Jan Andersson was travelling as a passenger in Leif Ljungqvist's car. They were travelling south on Sveavägen in the middle lane. Andersson heard a bang. About 2-3 seconds later there was another bang. They were about 20 metres north of the north traffic lights at Tunnelgatan.

Andersson. located the sound and saw the back of a man running into the alley, Tunnelgatan eastwards. Another person was lying down on the pavement, with another bent over him.
The red car in the lower left corner of the picture marks the car Andersson was travelling in. The person outside the car is the reconstruction photographer.
